333 Valley Street, An Intergenerational Organization known as “the Shack” serves as leaders in community wellbeing.

Leaders in this center set the positive tone for others in the community to follow whether it be a leader in conversation, design, or programs that benefit at-risk-youth or seniors. There are many ways that the Shack can build an innovative social-minded community.

This center means so much to this community because it has been a community Icon for many years and now it has been rebirthed better than what the West Hills community had before. We cannot dismiss the heroes who have started the foundations of this center like Ronald Augustine, Doris Wadley, Jackie Daniels, Curtis Jennings, and others.

The Shack has skilled retired educators, producers, chefs, doctors, attorneys, engineers along with amenities to help our residents participate in the many electives that are being offered.

The Six benefits of volunteering at the Shack:

  1. Gaining new skills

  2. Making new friend

  3. Mental and physical health and wellbeing

  4. Giving something back

  5. Improving your confidence

  6. Supporting senior's needs
